Mentoring is the single most effective way to positively impact a child’s life. By mentoring youth through The Bridge Mentor Program, you will create a safe, trusting relationship that in turn helps build upon the child’s social, academic, and overall life skills.
Studies show mentoring promotes:
- Increased school attendance
- Healthy decision-making
- Skill development
- Increased participation in sports or extracurricular activities
- Community volunteering
- Better social skills
- Increased likelihood of enrolling in a college or university
- Increased success in school and/or career
The Youth Mentor Program at The Bridge pairs adult volunteer mentors with youth one-on-one and facilitates monthly activities for the larger group to enjoy together. The Bridge provides all the training and support you need to be a successful role model in a child’s life. Please join us if you can give just one or two hours a week of your time. Children in the program are ages 11 and older (through high school) and could use an extra, reliable role model in their lives.
