Meet a Mentor: Dan

Dan Campbell became a volunteer in the summer of 2021. He was matched with a mentee named Kevin. The pair meets weekly and attends group activities with the other program participants regularly. Here’s what Dan had to say about his experience as a mentor at The Bridge:

“When I retired, I was looking for a volunteer opportunity where I could use my ‘dad skills.’ [I have 5 (now grown) children]. I had heard good things about The Bridge and their mentoring program. When I inquired more about it, it sounded and felt like a great opportunity for me to help a child who is in need of a positive adult role model in their life who is not a parent, teacher or counselor. Kevin and I have been getting together weekly for over a year now. I can see and feel the positive influence our time together is having on him – and me as well.”

Anyone can make a great mentor–all it takes is the desire to make a positive impact on a child’s life. Reach out to Kelsey at kboyer@bridgeyouth.org to learn more about becoming a volunteer mentor!
