- The Bridge is an evolving organization. By design, services change as needs of children in the community change. In recent years we have been serving young children, under the age of six, for the first time in our history. We also have enhanced our service to children traumatized by child abuse or domestic violence by offering the SPARCS group (Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress). Our Crisis Intervention service for runaway or locked-out youth has become expert at responding to locked-out youth with psychiatric problems.

- I recently had the opportunity to speak with Joe Kiszka, who was Chairman of the original 1965 Palatine Township Committee on Youth, the organization that evolved into The Bridge. Mr. Kiszka is understandably proud of what this organization has become, and what it accomplishes for youth in this community. The vision of a responsive youth service that Joe and others had in 1965 continues.
- In 2011, The Bridge must increase its ability to attract funding from local individuals, groups, and corporations. Tax based funding is dwindling. Maintaining services is increasingly dependent on philanthropy. Attend an event that benefits The Bridge, make a donation, or volunteer your time to keep The Bridge strong. Your gifts will help continue the evolution of a great community service that helps troubled kids and kids in trouble live happier, more productive lives.
